One of the perks living in Australia is being able to enjoy world-class coffee. Yet, not every coffee shop would take the Aussie’s reputation seriously. I found “The Missing Piece” in Macquarie Centre stood out from numerous cafes in the mall.
The place takes their coffee seriously. When we were seated, we were asked about our coffee preferences and even was recommended with black coffee. I kinda know this is the real deal at this point cuz they were so confident about their coffee and need no milk to mess around. (I am sure they make awesome latte art though because I kept peaking at other tables)
There was even a piece of paper coaster to explain the coffee origin of my coffee. My long black Kenya coffee was aromatic with some acidity. It was almost rich until thick and you could see the beautiful film of crema on top. I personally loved the strength of this cup and I could definitely come back again to try other beans.
Apart from their amazing coffee or tea, don’t forget that they do have a range of savoury and sweet bites for you to go down with your drinks. We tried two of their raw little cakes and they are just as good that you wouldn’t even notice it.
Left: Raw Snickers – just like what you were expecting, gooey, sticky, nutty, but not too overly sweetened, indulging but in a much healthier way
Right: Minty Fresh – a lot lighter than the other one though the texture was still firm. The mint was very refreshing while the crunch at the bottom gave a nice bite to it
Verdict
The place pays attention to details like no joke. Super friendly staffs yet super serious about their stuff. Coffee is a must order and I would recommend their healthy cakes too! I also found many customers ordering their sweet potatoes fries so I might as well try them out next time!
