Westwood Carvery – LKF Savouring Art Menu 2017

It’s the second year of Savouring Art and Exhibitions in the art month, March 2017! There are 12 restaurants in LKF and California Tower have each created its own Savouring Art Menu.

From 1st March to 31st March, update photos of the dishes to Instagram with #(restaurant name) #LKFSavouringArt to stand a chance to wine an 9.7 inch iPad Pro with Apple Pencil!

Each restaurant would have a 4 to 5 courses Savouring Art Menu. With years of good reputation from their delicious as hell steak, Westwood carvery has joined the game and rolled out a scrumptious satisfying LKF Savouring Art Menu!

Roasted Beetroot & Pumpkin Salad with Grilled Tiger Prawn

The cozy intimate restaurant serves American style food, and has taken a twist on the presentation of their dishes to celebrate the art month. This salad has been presented beautifully embracing a colourful plating using flower pedals and a red beets sauce.

Not only there are delicious prawns, but many colourful balls lying on the plate and they are actually mini scoops of pumpkins, avocados, and beets! These healthy and deliciously winter vegetables are lightening and pairing well grilled seafood.

Soup of the Day / Beer Barley Vegetable Soup

Talking about winter, though the weather is slowly warming up, nothing is more soothing then a hot bowl of soup, especially when there are chunks of tender beef in it.

Slow-Roasted USDA Prime Rib with Signature Sides

Coming to the most anticipated dish on the menu. The prime rib has been slow-roasted at low temperature for long hours before they can get to that succulent texture but without having a pool of blood rolling around.

The cut has a good amount of fat that the buttery oil would ooze out from the meat once biting into it. We had the end cut so it had a much stronger smokey flavour and some edges were even blackened but not burnt.

American cuisine is very generous in portion size. The heavy meaty prime rib is served with a signature side which we had a big pile of sweet corn and mash, making it a hearty main to enjoy.

Apple Roses

A traditional American dessert, apple crumble, is stopped with a beautiful edible rose made with apple slices, wrapped in sweet and crispy puff pastry. The somewhat healthy dessert has a lot of red wine poached apple at the bottom and oats on top. However, apple crumbles can never be completed without vanilla ice cream and the restaurant has finely selected the luxurious ice cream brand, New Zealand Natural, delivering real flavours with extremely smooth and creamy texture without being too sweet that would overkill the dessert itself!
