VEUVE #CLICQUOLOGY HITS HONG KONG

The House of Veuve Clicquot introduces the first champagne made purely for mixology. A huge hit with the party crowd in London, Paris, Sao Paolo and St Barth, Veuve Clicquot RICH is available only in selected cities worldwide. Hong Kong is the first hot spot in Asia to welcome Veuve Clicquot RICH at two exclusive venues, Armani/Privé and Ozone at the Ritz Carlton.

Inspired by historic blends of ‘RICH’ champagne which contained a higher dosage of sugar, the innovative House of Veuve Clicquot propels this tradition into the modern era with a versatile blend designed specifically to combine with a universe of unique ingredients, served over ice. Perfect anytime, anywhere, Veuve Clicquot RICH invites you to be the first in Asia to embrace the freedom of customizing your very own champagne experience with a twist that’s so typically Clicquot!

THE WINE: A NEW EMPHASIS ON FRESH FRUIT
Inspired by a fresh new vision for modern drinking, Veuve Clicquot collaborated with professional mixologists, sharing their renowned savoir-faire of blending, to create a totally new wine for a new time. Veuve Clicquot Cellar Master, Dominique Demarville, explains that “sugar in champagne is like spices in a recipe, used correctly it can bring out specific aromas and enhance flavours and tastes”.

With Veuve Clicquot RICH, the fruitiness of the wine is boosted to an exciting new level.

THE RITUAL: CLICQUOLOGY
Veuve Clicquot RICH was created expressly to be combined with a selection of surprising ingredients to provide the freedom of creating a completely unique cocktail. Along with a team of expert mixologists, Veuve Clicquot has carefully selected ingredients which add the most unique twist, promising to surprise and delight as they magnify the signature notes of the wine for a completely unexpected champagne experience.
These ingredients are divided into three categories and include four specially-selected ingredients for Hong Kong:

FRUITY: Grapefruit Peel
FRESH: Cucumber or Peppers
REFINED: Earl Grey Tea

The signature Pinot Noir of Veuve Clicquot is given a new versatility with a higher dosage, while a greater presence of Meunier emphasizes fresh, fruity and gourmand notes. Citrus and floral notes are found on the palate, which are balanced with the dynamic freshness and creamy finish-  the signature of all Veuve Clicquot champagnes. (Blend: Pinot noir 45% / Meunier 40% / Chardonnay 15%)

The round glasses are uniquely deigned for this Veuve Clicquot Rich. The round edge gives you a stronger smell with the fresh ingredients in your cocktail, and it also gives more room for the ingredients to be soaked in the champagne, providing a more outstanding flavour for your palette.

FRESH: Bell Peppers

Bell Peppers cocktail makes you feel like you are eating and drinking at the same time with the subtle smell from the fresh peppers and their skin. The green capsicum stands out the most among those three peppers.

FRESH: Cucumber
Cucumber flavoured cocktail is as refreshing as it can be. Compared to other cucumber cocktails like gin and tonic, this cucumber champagne is sweeter and more elegant.

FRUITY: Grapefruit Peel

Grapefruit Peel cocktail is the sweetest among the four cocktails we have tried. It is less citrus than orange or lemon peel drinks we have tried in the past

REFINED: Earl Grey Tea

Earl Grey Tea cocktail is the most outstanding and special among all in my opinion. The tea leaf get strained while pouring the champagne over it, infusing it at the same time with its bubble and air.

Overall, the new Veuve Clicquot Rich is a very easy drink for everyone because it is a bit sweeter than normal champagne. It also combines well different kinds of ingredients and cuisines as well. Therefore, it is a good drink for any occasions because it is elegant yet suitable for all of you.
