Concrete Jungle – Where Dreams Are Made of In Chippendale

Being raised in Hong Kong, I know the best about the term “Concrete Jungle”. This place is in a foodie alley called chippendale and there are a lot of local hidden gems in this area so do give it a visit if you are in Sydney.

The restaurant is really busy with a short queue always at the door. The seating is cozy but not too noisy. I liked that how we can see a little bit of the kitchen action and you can also pretty much smell the coffee aroma all the time.

Not to mention the interior design of the eatery is chic and modern, which matches with the food which is nicely presented and delicious.

Blue Majik Smoothie Bowl AUD 17.5

Blue Majik is probably the reason why I came. The smoothie bowl is in blue because it made out of a beautiful concoction between blue algae, blueberries, black berries, then topped with coconut flakes. It’s a bowl of light smoothie goodness topped with all the healthy ingredients. I also liked the crunch which gives a little nutty taste to it.

House Smoked Salmon AUD 19.5

The dish looks simple but the taste is on so on point. The house smoked salmon tastes nothing like the store-bought ones. It has a nice savoury taste but the salmon itself looks still shiny and fresh. The savoury fish is balanced out with a slow cooked egg with a runny centre, sweet potato strings, avocado puree, mustard leaves.

Super Green AUD 9

A healthy combination between matcha, kale, banana, mango, lime, and almond milk. It’s quite light and not sweet at all. I can definitely taste the kale and banana in it.

Tropical Jungle AUD 9

A slightly sweeter smoothie made with pineapple, mint, lime, coconut water, coconut. A bit thicker but just as delicious.

Verdict

Go for their Blue Majik, and their savoury mains are awesome too! It also seems that their dessert is fun to share with. Everything makes it an easy go-to in Chippendale if you happen to be in the area.
