Flaming Frango Refreshed Menu

Pari Pari Chicken might sound familiar to you if you lived in Australia or other countries with Nando’s. No worries now, you can now get your Pari Pari fixed at Flaming Frango featuring their 24-hours marinated juicy chicken with a flavourful char grilled taste.

Being quite familiar with Quarry Bay, I know there is another restaurant featuring their housemate Pari Pari Chicken, but after trying at Flaming Frango, I think I have found my new favourite restaurant to enjoy some decent tender chicken!

The high protein chicken focus restaurant has recently refreshed their menu by adding in more healthy varieties including some seafood and vegetarian options.

Pari Pari Chicken Wings $145/12pcs

What’s not to love to start with these finger licking wings to share among friends? The skin was grilled until just slightly crispy while the flesh remained moist. The powerful smoky flavour was what impressed me, a perfect compliment with their daily fresh housemade sauce in mild, medium and hot spiciness.

Mediterranean Salad $98

One of their new items on the menu, this dish makes salad never boring because the chewy yet still soft halloumi gives a unique texture when biting into it. The salad was freshly tossed with some mixed peppers, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, mixed greens, olives, and just a light dressing to keep the calorie low.

Halloumi Cheese Sticks $78

It’s hard to find halloumi dish in Hong Kong in my opinion so I am glad that to see this dish on the menu. Evenly sliced sticks were dressed with balsamic vinegar, fresh mint, orange wedges, and cherry tomato. The sweet and sour taste from the citric from the fruit and the freshness from the herbs perfectly complimenting the rather light yet dense cheese dish.

Halved Chicken with 2 sides $198

You cannot miss their infamous Pari Pari Chicken when coming to Flaming Frango. You can also choose two of your favourite sides to go with the dish. We have chosen some Pari Pari fries with pirioli and coleslaw, while you could also choose veggie, rice, garlic bread, mixed leaves & Parmesan or mashed potatoes!

Comparing to Flames in Quarry Bay, I found this restaurant serves a lot better chicken in terms of flavour and moisture. The grilled smokey taste was very prominent, and the housemade sauces are ranged with spiciness which I liked a lot.

Prawn Fajitas $168

Another new item on the menu, prawns are always considered healthy and this delicate seafood is prepared with onion and pepper, served with sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. The size was just perfect to share among 4-5 people. The warm tortillas are grilled and it went well with the slightly spicy prawns and all the condiments. It would be a great dish for those who don’t want to consume too much meat in one seating but the serving size was definitely meant for sharing.

Lychee and Lemongrass Colada $85

The chicken restaurant also offers a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. As a drinker, I have ordered a glass of Lychee and Lemongrass Colada. If you have ever tried a colada that is not made with pineapple, you have to come here and try because they made a good balance between the sweet and oriental taste of this coconut based cocktail. If you are not a drinker, they would be more than happy to make any virgin version drink, just for you!
