Food Review: Food N’ More Foodie Bazar (Kwun Tong)

Food N’ More is a newly opened food bazar located in 5 mins walk away from Kwun Tong MTR station, with over 10,000 sq. ft. and 400+ seats. First and foremost, Food N’ More is not simply a food bazar nor a food court, but an area for high standard restaurants to joint force and bring quality meals for hard workers on the Kowloon East side. We were honoured to try all of their six restaurants featuring different cuisine by many experienced hotel level chef.

The place is also up for catering, hosting parties or events, as well as some other activities upon requests. There is a wide variety of cuisine from all over the world, letting you experience and explore about food. It is not only about food, but there is more. The sky is the limit.

A: Double Happiness Kitchen

It is a branch of Double Happiness Cafe in SOHO, Central. The famous Chinese restaurant presents their homemade delicacies and soup without MSG using high quality finely selected raw ingredients.

Shanghainese Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs (additional $12 with any combo set), one of their signature dishes. The pork ribs were so tender and moist enough to have a almost falling-apart effect, while the meat absorbed all the flavourful juice after being marinated and cooked for long hours.

B: CurryUp

Chef Tony Tang wish to present different curry cuisines originated from different countries. The most special one would be their white curry from India.

Indian White Curry Chicken Tenderloin with Duo Rice ($40) include soup of the day/hot drink, is a royal curry which was used by the King in Indian to please his Queen who loves white colour.

C: G Cuisine

G. Cuisine offers all kind of excitement to your palette with its sweet, sour, savory and bitterness. Their renown chef used to work in one of the best hotel chains in Hong Kong.

G. Chicken Rice Set with herb soup, oil rice, herbal tea ($48). This should be the best Hainanese chicken rice in Kwun Tong, the boneless chicken was tender and moist, which complement nicely with the “hand crushed” cucumber. We personally think that Hainanese chicken with chicken oil rice should be the most heart warming food we can get in China.

The homemade soup is not to be missed as it is MSG free and full of healthy Chinese medicine ingredients including the superfood goji berries and ginseng.

D: i chef kitchen

i chef kitchen has taken a modern vibe to create its name, featuring elegant and yummy western cuisine like pasta, pizza, and sizzling pepper rice lunch sets.

Smoked Salmon & Onsen Egg Confit in Lemon Cream Sauce with Spaghetti or Rice ($48) served with green salad, soup of the day, and hot drinks. The ooey gooey runny egg yolk is something we could not wait to try. We wish we can just put down the camera and dig in right away. Egg and pasta combination can never fail, adding smoked salmon slices on top brings the dish to a whole new level with its freshness and natural saltiness. Not to mention that we could get some healthy omega-3 from the salmon! Yum!

E: Kanteen

Thanks to K-Pop, we are all in K fever nowadays. Luckily we can finally enjoy some quality Korean food in Kwun Tong. Who doesn’t love cheese noodles, kimchi soup, stir-fried noodles, or some rice rolls? Thank god we don’t have to go to Kowloon City anymore.

Deep-Fried Spicy Assorted Meat – Beef, Chicken, and Pork ($57) served with starter, rice, and soup. Having lived in a Korean suburb in Australia for a long time, we have to go and get some Korean from time to time. This trio-meat meaty dish had satisfied our cravings.

Bibimbap with Spicy Pork/Beef/Chicken ($55) served with starter and soup. Looks good isn’t it? It tasted goo as well. Again, the egg was perfectly cooked with runny yolk. The combination of all the fresh ingredient had made a perfect match with each other. Each type of veggie is specially marinated and seasons to perfection.

F: Thai Feel

Working with relatives are not easy but Thai Feel is a masterpiece by two brothers joining force together. Not only it can provide you standard Thai food but also some innovative fresh seafood dishes upon request.

We tend to stick with traditional therefore we had tried their Tom Yum Soup with rice served with lemongrass tea, which was one of our favourites! The pungent fragrance in the soup was just amazing. The spiciness, sourness and the creaminess was just right. Most importantly, it was not way too salty and it could go well with a glass of light lemongrass tea.

Pad Thai ($48), another very traditional dish in Thailand. The slightly spiced noodle was seasoned nicely with enough dryness to it. By adding some toasted peanuts could give you a party in the mouth, and why not some more dried chili flakes?
